Biography
Goldin+Senneby is a Stockholm-based artist subject. Since 2004 their work has explored the structural correspondence between conceptual art and finance capital, drawn to its (il)logical conclusions. Works include a ghostwritten detective novel about an offshore company on the Bahamas (2007-2015), a magic trick for the financial markets (2016) and a proposal for an eternal employment at a train station (2017). In recent years, their practice has increasingly shifted towards questions of care, ecology and the politics of diagnosis. Drawing on bodily experiences of an autoimmune disease, they are staging a fiction with an ”autoimmune tree” as the main protagonist, selling spots on the artist’s brain, and hospitalizing the world’s oldest spruce. The duo consistently returns to the models, systems and metaphors that structure and frame how we can understand the world. The recurring question for them is how we see rather than what we see.
Goldin+Senneby has exhibited at the biennials in São Paulo (2008), Manifesta in Genk (2012), Istanbul (2013) and Gwangju (2016); held solo exhibitions at The Power Plant in Toronto (2008), Kadist in Paris (2010), e-flux in New York (2019), Accelerator in Stockholm (2025), and upcoming at MIT List in Boston (2025). Their works are included in the collections of Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Whitney Museum of American Art; and The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
